• The product develops optimum performance when the water to be treated has a pH between 7.0 and 7.4 and is properly buffered, i.e. it has an alkalinity (TAC) between 80 and 120 mg/l.
• In the event of very high turbidity or very poor water quality, it is preferable to carry out flocculation-precipitation using a flocculant or a liquid clarifier.
• Micro-organisms, organic matter (decomposition products, etc.) and mineral matter (silt, clay, metal particles, etc.) present in suspension or in a colloidal state are too fine to be retained by the filter sand only; flocculation is the agglomeration of these particles into flakes that can be retained by the filter.
• The regular use of flocculant considerably improves the quality of the filtration and, consequently, helps to maintain very good water quality.
